Information has been released today about COVID-19 Cases at attractions and facilities in the Lakes Region:
Silver Dollar City releases a statement on Thursday with information on some park employees that have tested positive for the COVID-19 Virus.
The release states that employees have tested positive since the reopening of the park on June 13 and that park officials are working closely with area Health Departments to follow all required and recommended protocols.
The Safety Team at Silver Dollar City has completed an investigation of the cases and determined additional employees that were in direct contact with the COVID-19 positive cases. All employees involved have been quarantined in accordance with the guidelines established through the CDC.

Late this afternoon, the Stone County Health Department releases more information confirming that six employees at Silver Dollar City have tested positive for COIVD-19 and that this is currently being investigated as a possible outbreak. The release says that all employees were masked while on park and they all close contacts including co-workers have been notified and quarantined. SCHD says Silver Dollar City has cooperated fully with the investigation and is following all of the proper protocols.
In the meantime, the Stone County Health Department also releases information about its investigation into a COIVD-19 Outbreak at Kanakuck’s K-2 Camp in Lampe.
Kanakuk officials has shut the camp down for this term as they work with the Health Department to identify the exposed individuals and quarantine if necessary.
The release also states that at this time, the outbreak appears to be limited to the K-2 Camp only and has not affected any of the other five Kanakuk facilities in the region.

Silver Dollar City has been informed of employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 since opening on June 13. Our thoughts are with them and their families during this difficult time.
We are working closely with the health departments to follow all required and recommended protocols.
Our safety team has completed contact tracing and determined additional employees were in direct contact with the COVID-19 positive employees. Those employees who have been in direct contact are quarantined from work as established by CDC guidelines and are encouraged to be tested for COVID-19.
