COVID-19 Surge Continues in Lakes Region

The Lakes Region continues to see a surge of COVID-19 Cases over the last few weeks.

Taney County’s number of cases jumped to 54 as of Sunday evening with 32 cases currently active while Stone County picked up another case over the weekend which brings the County’s total to 13 with currently five active cases. Barry County’s number now sits at 45 cases, 34 currently active.

All three counties have COVID-19 Testing Events scheduled this week through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Missouri National Guard.
Events are today in Stone County at Reeds Spring Middle School and in Barry County at Cassville High School from 7-3 while in Taney County, Cox Branson Orthopedics and Neurology Building will host testing Tuesday from 7-7 and Wednesday from 7-3. Testing is free but registration is required. Meanwhile in Arkansas, numbers are still on the rise, with Boone County jumping up to 22 cases, 15 active while Carroll County has 166 cases with 77 still active. Madison County still has 64 active cases out of the 188 total reported. Marion and Newton Counties have each picked up two new active cases over the last week.

There has been a total of seven deaths attributed to COVID-19 to this point, four in Carroll County, two in Taney County, and one in Boone County.
