Around 4:00 pm, units dispatched to the report of a residential structure fire on Wilson Creek Rd. near Galena. First Fire Personnel to arrive found a two story structure fully involved.
The only access to the property was through a small low water crossing bridge. Our apparatus could not attempt to cross it. We had two tankers with all wheel drive that were able to make it through another access. Water was shuttled to an Engine at the bridge and the two tankers were used to extinguish the fire.
The two-story home is a total loss. The home was occupied by two adults and a teenage boy along with a cat and dog. They had gone to Branson to buy medication for their cat. The cat and a dog were in the house. Neither one of the pets have been accounted for.
The cause is unknown. There were no injuries. Northern Stone Fire, Mercy EMS, Stone County Sheriff Dept assisted.
Around 6:00 pm, several units cleared the scene to respond to another structure fire in Reeds Spring. The fire was contained to the kitchen of a one-story residence. No injuries.
