The Branson Police Department estimates around 155 people were involved in a rally and protest today on 76 Country Blvd. supporting both Black Lives Matter and the Dixie Outfitters Store that has been the focal point of controversy for selling Confederate Flags among other Southern Heritage Memorabilia plus the owners family connection to the Ku Klux Klan.
Branson Police does report there was one arrest but otherwise the protest was described as peaceful, though many signs were held up plus there was a lot of shouting between the sides.
One video catches a moment when the two sides were almost nose to nose but after a discussion between individuals on both sides, they moved away from each other giving them some more distance between the sides.
Branson PD patrolled the area with the help of the Missouri Highway Patrol and Taney County Sheriff’s Office as well as Branson Fire-Rescue and Taney County Ambulance personnel.
