Matthews: Police at its Best is an Investment into the Community

by: Scott McCaulley

As protests continue across the country and relations between Police and segments of communities is strained, Branson Top Law Enforcement Officer says policing at its best is and Investment into the Community.

Branson Police Chief Jeff Matthews, in an interview on KRZK’s “At Your Service” Program last week talked about that investment and what the department does to put that in practice, with programs such as Citizen’s Academy and Explorers Programs plus assigning officers to patrol in certain parts of town for a year to get to know the citizen’s and business owners in that area to foster relationships of trust and understanding.

Matthews also says he and fellow officers cringe when they see and hear about police misconduct and says “‘…nobody hates a bad cop more than the good cop.”
