The Arkansas State Board of Education has approved a boundary change between the Ozark Mountain School District (OMSD) and the Lead Hill School District.

In mid-April, the two districts petitioned the board to move two pieces of land north of Bull Shoals Lake from OMSD to the Lead Hill School District.

Representatives for the two districts told the board, after posting a public notice, the boundary change was requested because the pieces of land do not border the Ozark Mountain School District. Instead, the properties do border the Lead Hill School District.

No objections were voiced to the request. The change was approved in May.

OMSD was formed in 2004 to meet Arkansas law requiring school districts have a minimum of 350 students. It consists of three separate K-12 campuses, Bruno-Pyatt, St. Joe and Western Grove.
