The Taney County Health Department reported the biggest one day number of COVID-19 Cases in the county since the Pandemic began hitting the region in March.
After a report of five new cases earlier in the day, another release from the Health Department Sunday evening indicated three more cases of COVID-19 active in the county.
While the sources of the three new cases announced Sunday were unknown, TCHD officials did say the timeline for one of the potential exposure’s for COVID-19 was at Hollister’s Summer School beginning on June 3. All three cases are believed to be community spread cases and not associated with any previous case.
Earlier in the day, possible exposure for the first five reported cases included Wal-Mart on 76 Country Blvd, Phillips 66 Gas Station on Highway 65 near Walnut Shade, and Hy-Vee in Springfield, all on June 3.
The recent surge in number brings the total number of cases in Taney County to 24 with 10 total active cases and two deaths.
Meanwhile some new cases have been reported in Boone County as well as the City of Harrison Facebook Page issues a release late last week that two new cases were reported Friday bringing the total of current active cases to four. Nine total cases have been reported in Boone County.
