Five New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Taney County (Update adding Three New Cases)

UPDATE: Sunday Evening, three more cases of COVID-19 were reported in Taney County with one of the cases having a possible exposure at Hollister Summer School between June 3-12.

The Taney County Health Department confirms five new cases of COVID-19 in the county.

The source of the five new cases is undetermined, but none have been linked to previous cases. All individuals are isolating at home and all close contacts will be notified and quarantined at home.

The following have been identified as locations visited:

Wednesday, June 3:
Walmart on Missouri Route 76 between 5-6 p.m. (unmasked)

Phillips 66 Gas Station, 4914 US-65, Walnut Shade, around 9 a.m. for approximately 10 minutes (masked, wearing gloves)

Hy-Vee in Springfield, end-morning for approximately 30 minutes (masked, wearing gloves)

Individuals who visited these locations on the above dates should monitor for COVID-19 Symptoms. Those who begin to experience symptoms should contact healthcare providers.

These cases are considered community spread and TCHD continues to recommend Social Distancing, Face Coverings, Hand Hygiene, and avoiding Highly Crowded Areas.
