MSHP Works Pair of Accidents Thursday

Two accidents in the region are worked by Troop D of the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The first occurred Thursday morning around 10:20 on Highway 76 south of Forsyth when a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Makala Sims of Kissee Mills turned into the path of a vehicle driven by 82-year-old Carole Beals of Kirbyville. Sims and a passenger in her vehicle, 17-year-old Novalee Mahoney of Forsyth, sustained moderate injuries while Sims sustained minor injuries with all being treated at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

The other accident occurred after 5:00 on Highway 60 east of Monett when a vehicle driven by Tyler Lamastus, 20, of Aurora hit another vehicle from behind which in turn hit the vehicle in front of it. Lamastus sustained serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment. The driver of the second vehicle, 25-year-old Clara Graves of Nixa, was not injured while the driver and passenger in the third vehicle, 60-year-old Paul Gripka and 47-year-old Marcy Gripka both of Aurora, sustained moderate injuries that were treated at Cox Hospital in Monett.
