The Western Taney County Fire Protection District along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol rescue an individual who was trapped on an island in Bull Creek as the water rose around him.

The WTCFPD Technical Rescue Team responded to the end of Elizabeth Drive around 4:50 Monday afternoon to a report of a 14-year-old male that was stuck on an island as Bull Creek was rising due to large amounts of rain. According to the release on the WTCFPD Facebook Page, two team swimmers made their way to the island to set-up a rope system to allow a rescue boat to cross the creek and retrieve the individual, who was not injured.

Firefighters were assisted by the MHP Water Rescue team with operations taking around 90 minutes.
