Missouri Municipal Elections One Week Away

One week from today the polls will open in Missouri for the first time since the March Presidential Primary as voters will cast ballots in the Municipal Elections, postponed from April due to COVID-19 Concerns.

Taney County has a several contested races including Mayoral Races in Forsyth and Hollister. Hollister also has one contested Alderman Race with two of three Alderman Races in Branson being contested.

There are also contested races for School Board Positions in Branson, Forsyth, and Hollister. Voters in the Taneyville School District will vote on a no Tax Levy Increase issue to borrow money for District Improvements.

Voters in Galena will vote on a similar issue while Galena along with fellow Stone County School District Crane will have contested Board Races.

The only contested Municipal Race in Stone County is an Alderman Race in Crane.

While no Municipal or County Wide Issues will be on the Ballot in Stone County, Taney County Voters will see the Issue replacing the current Law Enforcement Sales Tax with a 3/8 of 1% tax that would be in place for the next 15 years. Voters in the Western Taney County Fire Protection District will be asked to approve a Tax Levy Increase while Rockaway Beach voters will consider an Internet Use Tax while voters in Saddlebrooke will consider a Bond Issue for improvements.

Voters in Taney County will be casting a ballot through a Drive-Thru System while voting in Stone County will also adhere to COVID-19 Guidelines.

Polls will be open next Tuesday between 6 am-7 pm.
