Rain and Storms are going to be a part of the Memorial Day Weekend around the Lakes Region.
According to the National Weather Service, today could start the extended weekend on a stormy note with possible Severe Thunderstorms in the region. Damaging Winds and up to Golf Ball Size Hail are possible with an Isolated Tornado also possible. The Severe Storms are expected in the region this afternoon and this evening.
Rain is in the forecast off and on over the weekend with most of the Lakes Region expected to see 2-3 inches of additional rainfall which could lead to some localized Flooding. A Flood Warning that was is in effect for Taney County including the Branson area as well as Northeastern Stone, Central Christian, and Greene County including the metro Springfield area has been revised and now the Flood Warning in the Lakes Region is for areas of Southeastern Taney and Southwestern Ozark Counties until 1:00 Saturday afternoon.
The Ozark Mountain Media Group of stations will keep updated throughout the weekend on the weather with the help of the National Weather Service, the Ozarks First Weather Lab, and Storm Dar.
