A traffic crash during rush hour in Monett late Wednesday afternoon involving four vehicles injures five people.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Accident Report indicates the crash happened around 5:25 at the intersection of Highway 60 and Barry County Farm Road 1100 east of Monett. A vehicle driven by 34-year-old Santanna Guess of Merriam Woods was stopped in traffic for a car turning left in front of her. Meanwhile behind her, a vehicle had rear ended another vehicle which ran into Guess’s vehicle and forced her across the highway then hitting a fourth car.
Guess escaped without injury with the driver of the fourth car, 60-year-old Mary Gilmartin of Pierce City, sustaining moderate injuries that were treated at Cox Hospital in Monett. The driver of the vehicle that started the chain reaction accident, 32-year-old Ashley Sitton of Marionville, and two juvinile passengers in her vehicle plus the driver of the vehicle she hit, 38-year-old Scott Andelin of Pierce City, all sustained minor injuries in the crash.
