Water Rescue Operations Continue in Oak Grove UPDATE: One Dead, One Rescued, One Missing

UPDATED Press Release from Oak Grove Fire and Rescue

Crews responded to a report of three people that had been swept off a low water crossing while trying to walk across. The incident happen around 6:30 pm off couty road 818. One subject was rescued by bystanders a second subject was recovered and was pronounced dead on scene. A third subject is still missing at the time of this release. Crews from Oak Grove, Green Forest, Alpena, MDS , CCSO, Carroll county SORT team and K-9 are currently searching. Command has requested a swift water team from Harrison.

Officials from Oak Grove Fire and Rescue release information on their Facebook Page about a Water Rescue that began just before Midnight Sunday Evening.

The post indicates several units, including two boats and two K-9 Units were on the scene on Carroll Count Road 818. Other agencies including the Green Forest Fire Department were on the scene as well. Around 50 total rescue personnel were involved in the initial response.

A further post indicated that rescue operations were suspended around 3:00 am and are resuming after sunrise.

No other information has been released on the specifics of the Water Rescue or how many people are involved.
