Driver Suffers Moderate Injuries in Traffic Crash That Closes Road for Three Hours

by: Scott McCaulley

Highway 86 in Stone County was shut down for three hours Wednesday after a Tractor Trailer Truck overturned just before Noon.

The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District posts on their Facebook Page that when units arrived at the scene of the accident on 86 near Highway JJ, the truck was on its side with traffic having to be turned around to avoid the accident scene, which was eventually cleaned up with Highway 86 reopening just before 3:00.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Accident Report, the Tractor Trailer Truck, driven by 24-year-old Jimmy Yarberry of Billings, left the right side of the road while traveling westbound on 86 and began skidding. Yarberry then over-corrected while trying to regain control of the vehicle, overturned on the roadway and eventually coming to a stop after striking an embankment and a utility pole.

Yarberry sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Cox Medical Center in Branson for treatment.
