UPDATE: The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Stone and Barry Counties in Missouri and Carroll and Madison Counties in Arkansas until 11:00 tonight. Also, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 11:00 tonight for Taney County along with Christian, Douglas, and Ozark Counties in Southern Missouri. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch also covers the metro Springfield Area.
The National Weather Service puts most of the Ozarks in an “Enhanced” Risk for Severe Thunderstorms late this afternoon and this evening.
A line of strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to move into Southwest Missouri and North West Arkansas late this afternoon. Current forecasts indicate the most likely time for the storms to move through the Lakes Region to be between 8-10 pm. All modes of severe weather are possible with the most likely begin strong winds and hail. An isolated tornado is also possible.
Updates on the weather situation will happen on-air during the evening with information from the National Weather Service, the KOLR-10 Weather Lab, and Storm Dar Weather.
