After being out of the classrooms for what will amount to about one quarter of the academic year, the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic has led Gov. Asa Hutchinson and other state officials to push back the celebration of this year’s senior class.
During Saturday’s press briefing, Gov. Hutchinson and Education Secretary Johnny Key announced the postponement of traditional commencement ceremonies until no earlier than July 1.
Key stated schools will have the option of holding graduation ceremonies earlier if they choose a non-traditional form, including digital and video.
