by: Scott McCaulley

A mix of rainy and severe weather is possible in the region this evening into Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Branson Area and other counties in the Missouri Lakes Region including Taney, Stone, Douglas, and Ozark Counties beginning at 9:00 this evening. The Weather Service in a statement says a round of showers and thunderstorms will bring moderated to heavy rainfall to the area beginning this evening and continuing  into early Saturday morning. Forecast rainfall amounts of up to one to two inches, with localized amounts to three inches are possible across portions of the watch area that already saw one to three inches of rainfall in recent days.

In addition, the Weather Service says there is a potential for severe thunderstorms for the region late this afternoon into the evening for both the Branson and Harrison areas.
