Green Forest Resident Dies in Late Sunday Afternoon Traffic Accident

A two-vehicle crash in Madison County has claimed the life of a woman from Carroll County.

The Arkansas State Police Report indicates the accident occurred around 5:15 Sunday afternoon on Highway 412 west of Marble when vehicles driven by 69-year-old Elizabeth Woodward of Green Forest and 29-year-old Shawna Lamb collided when one of the vehicles crossed the center line.

Woodward was pronounced dead at the scene while Lamb was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment of her injuries.

Conditions were dry and cloudy at the time of the accident according to the ASP Report.

This is the 135th Fatality in an accident worked by the Arkansas State Police in 2020.
