Wide Range of Weather Possible in Region

by: Scott McCaulley

As the Lakes Area prepares for another round of Cold Weather, Severe Weather is possible today ahead of the Cold Front.

The National Weather Service says strong to severe storms are possible in the region. While the best chance of severe weather is in northeast and southern Arkansas, the Lakes Region does have a chance of thunderstorm development this afternoon that could include hail with an isolated Tornado possible.

Strong winds are expected ahead of the final round of storms with a Wind Advisory in effect for late this afternoon, this evening, and overnight for most of the Missouri and Arkansas Ozarks.

Much colder temperatures take over behind the front as Freeze Warning is in effect for the Missouri Lakes region for tomorrow morning with temperatures expected to be at or below freezing for several hours. Colder temperatures will remain in the region until midweek.

The Freeze Warning has also been updated to include Carroll and Madison Counties in Northern Arkansas.
