The Missouri Department of Transportation releases statistics on the decrease of Traffic throughout the state since the COVID-19 Virus Outbreak.
MoDOT Director Patrick McKenna said during Governor Mike Parson’s Thursday COVID-19 Press Briefing that traffic overall is down 40% through the state with the Branson Area having one of the highest percentages of reduced traffic in the state at 46%.
Some of the other areas listed were St. Louis at 45%, Kansas City 41%, Springfield 32% with other rural areas total at 33%.
McKenna and Governor Parson both mentioned that while traffic totals are down, there are still a significant total of accidents and traffic violations that officers are dealing with and both urged motorists to drive safely and obey all traffic laws.
