Another causality of the COVID-19 Virus is the first of two annual Drug Take Back Days, which has now been postponed from its original date of April 25.
Sponsored each year nationally by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the event is held at locations annual including several location in the Lakes Region.
According to a release from the Boone County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, Grant and Project Coordinator Dan Dillard says that all indications are that this will only be moved out 4-6 weeks, allowing coalitions throughout the nation to implement safe practices amid COVID-19 as well as potential alternate collection methods.
There is still drug drop off locations that are available year round including in Boone County at the Sheriff’s Office as well as the Harrison Police Department, Alpena City Hall and Lead Hill City Hall.
Other locations are available throughout the Lakes Region in both Missouri and Arkansas including the Branson Police Department.
