Parson Closes State Capital

by: Greg Pyron

In a Monday afternoon news conference, Missouri Governor Mike Parson announces that the State Capitol and all Missouri State offices will be closed starting today.

The closures are another way to reduce person to person contact and help slow the spread of the Coronavirus.   The closures are set to run through April 6th.

This does not apply to the state prisons, veterans homes, and other state-run facilities who are already operating with limited public access. The Governor stated cabinet directors have identified personnel who need to continue to work at the buildings to keep government operations running.  Other state employees will continue to work remotely until the offices re-open.
