Income Tax Filing Deadline Extended to July

by: Scott McCaulley

Earlier this month, the Internal Revenue Service had extended the deadline to pay 2019 Income Taxes to July 15, now that also applies to filing as well.

The IRS announced late last week that the filing deadline has now also been extended to July 15 because of the continuing spread of the COVID-19 Virus.

The IRS also says in the statement announcing the extension that individuals can still file as soon as their taxes are complete and encourages those who are due refunds to file as early as possible as the IRS is still processing returns and refunds are still being sent to filers within 21 days of submission.
