Many mourners lined Battlefield Road in Springfield Saturday to pay respects to Springfield Police Officer Christopher Walsh, who was killed in the line of duty during
a shooting incident at a Springfield convenience store last weekend.
Other first responders from around the Ozarks had vehicles that were a part of the procession including a fire truck from the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District. Fire inspector Dylan Honea and firefighter Mary Miller drove SSCFPD Engine 6104 in the procession according to a post from the SSCFPD’s Facebook Page.
Honea and his wife Shelby, who is currently deployed in the military, were friends of Officer Walsh.
Walsh was one of four people that were killed during the incident by a shooter who eventually took his own life.
