Heavy Rain Pelting Lakes Region

Several inches of rain has fallen around the Ozarks this afternoon as numerous reports of rising waters along creeks and roadways.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is reporting several roads in the region closed due to High Water with more roads beginning to see water across the highways.

The National Weather Service has several Flash Flood Warnings out in Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas plus the James River at Galena is under a Flood Warning as waters are expected to rise above Flood Stage on Friday causing Minor Flooding.

Reports to the National Weather Service office in Springfield indicates several areas of flooding with two incidents in Stone County of vehicles either getting caught or swept off the highway due to swift water.

There was a brief Severe Thunderstorm that moved through Carroll and Madison Counties late this morning with another possible round of Severe Weather late this afternoon and evening before the precipitation clears out and ushers in much colder air on Friday.
