NARMC Restricting Visitors, Setting Up Viral Testing Clinic

Press Releases

Out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our community and healthcare personnel, North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) is restricting all visitors until further notice. NARMC’s top priority is keeping our community healthy and safe as we continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, in the state of Arkansas.

“We take the health of our community and staff very seriously,” COO and CNO Sammie Cribbs said. “Restricting visitors is one way we are trying to reduce the spread of viral illnesses. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Special consideration will be given to obstetrics and individual patient needs on a case by case basis.

NARMC will continue to monitor this evolving situation and will evaluate our processes as we see how this situation impacts our community.

Meanwhile, NARMC will be offering a drive-thru viral screening clinic outside the NARMC Medical Plaza.

The goal of the screening clinic is to provide convenient viral screening services. If you have mild flu-like symptoms, including fever, cough or body aches, this drive-thru clinic will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Please call 870-414-4010 before leaving home.

When arriving at the viral screening center, patients will be directed to enter the NARMC Medical Plaza parking lot from Highway 65. They will then be guided to proceed through the drive-thru at the rear of the building. Two lanes will be designated for registration and triage, which will be performed by NARMC personnel. All testing will be performed in the patient’s vehicle. Those in need of a flu test, they will be instructed on next steps.

If a COVID-19 test is indicated, patients will be instructed to pull into the lane designated for COVID-19 testing. NARMC will follow Arkansas Department of Health recommendations for testing. Supplies for testing remain limited throughout the state. Please be aware that healthcare workers performing this service will wear personal protective equipment, including a mask, face mask, gloves and gowns.

A reminder that the Medical Plaza Parking Lot will be closed to through traffic during the hours of operation of Drive-Thru Clinic.

NARMC is taking necessary precautions to keep our community healthy and safe. We will continue to monitor this evolving situation.

If you have questions regarding COVID-19, please call 870-414-4010.
