The message from the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is simple, healthy donors, please continue to donate.
With fears of the possible spread of the Coronavirus increasing plus the normal increase of blood needs this time of year, the CBCO is joining the Red Cross and other organizations in asking that blood donors continue to give when possible.
Chris Pilgrim of the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks was a guest on KRZK’s “At Your Service” Program this morning and restated what has gone out on several releases and that transfusion of blood is not a method of transferring the virus. Pilgrim also states that donors are checked before hand for illnesses and blood is also tested after donations.
The CBCO does have a couple of Blood Drives scheduled in the region, including Thursday at Bergman High School and Friday at Crane Middle School running from 9 am-2 pm each day.
You can check the CBCO Web Site for further information on area Blood Drives as well as our announcements on the Ozark Mountain Media Group Family of Stations.
