Saturday Smoke Caused by Controlled Burn

by: Scott McCaulley

Smoke was apparent in the Lakes Region Saturday afternoon as the US Forest Service and the Missouri Department of Conservation were conducting a controlled burn.

The information provided on the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District’s Facebook Page indicates the burn was in a 1300 Acre area near Roaring River State Park in Barry County.

The Forest Service has been doing a series of controlled burns in both Arkansas and Missouri over the last week.
