The Harrison Lady Goblin Basketball team, like the Goblin Football team in the fall, had outstanding seasons that have been ended by the same school.
The Lady Goblins run in the 4A State Basketball Tournament got derailed Friday night by Pulaski Academy 49-44 in the Quarterfinals at Farmington. The game stayed close throughout with PA holding a slight lead at the end of the first three quarters before the Lady Bruins pulled away in the 4th quarter to grab the victory.
The Lady Goblins finish with five losses to three schools during the season, Springfield Kickapoo in the opener, then three weekends in a row to Farmington in February before Friday night’s loss to PA.
One other Northern Arkansas team saw their season ended as well Friday as the Valley Springs Tigers fall to Osceola 62-54 at the 3A Boys Tournament in Charleston.
Two other teams do advance to today’s semifinal games with the Valley Springs Girls, after their 70-56 win over Lamar Friday, taking on Mayflower this evening while the Alpena Girls advance at the 1A Tournament at Hot Springs after a 62-57 win over Rural Special on Friday to take on Kirby at Noon today.
In Missouri, Class 1-3 Schools are all in State Quarterfinal Games with Blue Eye taking on Mansfield in the Class 2 Quarterfinal at Republic at 1:00. That game can be heard on 106.3 KRZK.
