The Branson Lady Pirates used a tenacious defense and timely shooting to put top seed Springfield Kickapoo off balance for awhile in their Class 5 District Semi-final at Springfield Parkview Monday night. But the Lady Chiefs showed their experience and slowly took control of the game in the second half on their way to a 78-53 win.
Priscilla Williams, playing her final game for Branson before moving on to Syracuse University in the fall, scored 31 points before leaving the game late in the fourth quarter with a leg injury while Kickapoo’s post player Indya Green scored 29 points to lead the Lady Chiefs.
Kickapoo moves on to play Nixa in the District Finals on Thursday. Nixa knocked off Springfield Central 57-42 in Monday’s Other Semi-final.
The Boys Semi-finals takes place tonight with Branson and Kickapoo playing at 6:00 in a game that can be heard on 106.3 KRZK.
