2020 School Board Election Results; Alpena & Valley Springs

Two contested school board races were on the ballot for Boone County schools including Alpena and Valley Springs.

In Alpena Lynette Cantwell won with 293 votes while Kenny Underdown received 226. (Totals from Boone, Carroll, & Newton Counties)

In the Valley Springs School Board race Amy Deaton received the most votes with 334, Michael Watkins received 210, and Terry Ware received 90.

In other area results, a contested school board race in Carroll County saw Alechia Meador defeat Peggy James 506 to 277 for a spot on the Green Forest School Board. A couple of local Sales Tax Issues were on area ballots. In Madison County, voters in St. Paul passed a 2% Sales and Use Tax while in Marion County, voters in Flippin defeated a 1% Sales Tax. Several area counties had local primary races.
