A rarity this weekend as both the College of the Ozarks and North Arkansas College will be in action on the basketball courts on Sunday.
C of O new after winning their opening round games at the Association of Independent Institutions Tournament in Lincoln, Illinois Friday that they would be in action Sunday, the only thing to be decided is what place would they play for. Both teams pick up wins Saturday as the Lady Bobcats win 82-53 over Wilberforce (Ohio) to move on to Saturday’s 5:00 title game against Voorheese College from South Carolina while the Bobcats came back from a 15-point deficit at one point in the game to capture a victory over Lincoln Christian University 69-64 to earn a Title Game shot against host Lincoln College at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday’s wins ensure the Bobcats and Lady Cats will each have a ticket to the NAIA D-II National Championships.
Meanwhile, North Arkansas College opens play in the NJCAA Region 2 Tournament in Searcy at Harding University Sunday. The Pioneers open play in the four team tournament at 7:00 against Southern Arkansas Tech while the Lady Pioneers first game is at 1:00 against ASU Mid-South. The finals of the tournament will be played on Tuesday.
