One of the biggest days in four parts of Missouri including Roaring River State Park near Cassville happens Sunday as it is the Opening Day of Catch-and-Keep Trout Fishing.

Roaring River, along with other state parts at Bennett Spring, Montauk, and Maramc, will be stocked daily with Rainbow Trout through the Catch and Release season which goes through October 31.

In a release from the Department, Conservation Officials remind trout anglers that they need a daily trout tag to fish in Missouri’s trout parks. Daily trout tags can only be purchased at each of the four trout parks. Missouri residents 16 through 64 and nonresidents 16 and older also need a fishing permit in addition to the daily tag.

The cost of a daily trout tag at Roaring River  is now $4 for adults and $3 for those 15 years of age and younger. A daily fishing permit for Missouri residents is $7 and now $8 for nonresidents. The daily limit is four trout.
