From: KTLO & HTDN

The Marion County Airport in Flippin is among 13 across Arkansas sharing in $10.7 million in safety and infrastructure grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao says the airport in Flippin will receive $171,500 to acquire land for aircraft approaches and for development.

Secretary Chao says this investment in Arkansas’ airports is part of a $520.5 million national investment in America’s airports.

Meanwhile it was announced earlier this month that the Springfield-Branson National Airport in Springfield would receive funds from this grant to reconstruct and rehabilitate a Taxiway and rehabilitate a Runway.

Missouri 7th District Congressman Billy Long said in a release that the funds included over $3.5 Million to reconstruct the Taxiway.
