Hundreds of beloved family pets have spent time with Best Friends Boarding and Grooming in Kirbyville…but a recent fire destroyed the building on east highway 76 and took the lives of 2 dogs and 2 cats inside.

The fire, that likely started in the furnace, also damaged kennels and grooming equipment.

The outpouring of overwhelming love and support for co-owners Shellena Jones and Cindy Williams is evidenced by dozens of social media messages and pledges of financial support.

Locals in the community are making plans to help organize fundraisers for Best Friends so Williams and Jones can start to rebuild their business and get back on their feet.

Donations can be mailed to Best Friends Boarding and Grooming 8070 East Highway 76, Kirbyville MO 65679.
