A pair of accidents worked by the Missouri Highway Patrol in the Lakes Region Monday had drastically different results.
One person dies in a crash on Business 13 in Branson West just after 3:30 pm.
The Highway Patrol accident report indicates a car driven by 40-year-old Roman Hand of Branson attempted to pass another vehicle and struck an SUV head-on driven by 19-year-old Mackenzie Duvall also of Branson.
According to information released by the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District, Duvall’s vehicle was on its side upon arrival after which she was extricated from the vehicle and was not injured while Hand, who was not wearing a seat belt according to the Highway Patrol Accident report, was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident closed down traffic on Business 13 north for around two hours.
Earlier in the day, Troopers worked an accident on Highway F north of Branson that resulted in only one minor injury.
Troopers say around 10:00 am, a car driven by 70-year-old George Mulick of Branson pulled into the path of a car driven by 29-year-old Jennifer Stevens of also of Branson.
Both drivers were uninjured but a passenger in Mulick’s car, 66-year-old Cynthia Mulick, did sustain minor injuries that were treated at Cox Medical Center in Branson.
