Steve Hancock Returns to Branson Football Sidelines

by: Scott McCaulley

The man who built the Branson Football Program to one of the most successful and respected programs in the state will return to the sidelines at Pirates Stadium this fall.

Steve Hancock, who guided the Pirates for 28 seasons, is returning to the District as an Offensive Assistant Coach to current Head Coach Anthony Hayes in a statement released on the Pirate Football Facebook Page.

Hancock won 197 games as Pirate Head Coach between 1986 and 2013. Prior to heading up the Branson Program, Hancock had coached at Stockton High School and since leaving Branson, he was the Head Football Coach at Springfield Catholic High School.

Hancock led the Pirates to nine District Championships and a pair of Runner-Up Finishes in Class 3A.
