Winter Weather Advisory Extends to Lakes Region

by: Scott McCaulley

Late Thursday afternoon, the Winter Weather Advisory that had been posted for much of southern Missouri was expanded to include the Lakes Region including the Branson Area followed by expansion into Northern Arkansas Thursday evening.

The advisory covers Missouri Lakes Region Counties Taney, Stone, Barry, and Ozark while in Arkansas, both the Harrison and Berryville areas are now included with the addition of Boone and Carroll Counties as well as Madison, Marion, Newton, and Searcy Counties.

The advisory is in effect for Arkansas until 10:00 this morning while the advisory in Missouri is in effect until 6:00 this evening.

A mixture of primarily rain and freezing rain is expected in the region that could cause some slippery conditions on area roads, bridges, and sidewalks.
