Two vehicles collide on James River Road in Kimberling City resulting in a fire and injuries Thursday afternoon.
Southern Stone County Fire Protection District Information Officer Eric Nielson in a release on the District’s Facebook Page states that units were dispatched to the scene of the accident where the vehicles were discovered to be on fire. While units began the fire attack, Mercy EMS personnel evaluated four people from the vehicles that sustained moderate injuries but refused transport by ambulance to the hospital.
Units were on the scene for about two hours putting the fire out then clearing the accident scene.
The Kimberling City Police Department is investigating the accident and says in the release that rain had just started and was likely to be a contributing factor in causing the accident.
