Holiday Tournaments: Harrison Splits Thomas Finals, Four Teams Advance in Springfield

A busy Saturday with several Holiday High School Basketball Tournaments involving many area teams.

Two tournaments in Arkansas wrap-up including the Lendel Thomas Classic in Harrison with the Lady Goblins grabbing the Girls Championship holding off West Memphis 67-64 while the Goblins fall in the Boys Title Game to Har Ber 70-50.

At the Berryville Holiday Hoops Tournament, the host Bobcats drop the Championship Game to Dumas 56-43 while the Lady Bobcats drop Dumas to grab third place in the tournament 58-36.

Meanwhile in Missouri, four Lakes Area Teams pick-up Consolation Wins in Holiday Tournaments in Springfield.

At the Blue and Gold Boys Tournament, Branson holds off Clever 58-49 to advance to play Bolivar in the Blue Division 5th Place Game Monday while Reeds Spring rolls to a 55-25 win over Mountain Grove and will play West Plains in the Gold Division Consolation Final Monday. Bolivar knocked off Crane 72-59 to advance to Monday’s game.

Branson and Blue Eye both pick-up close wins at the Pink and White Lady Classic. Branson wins a defensive struggle over Thayer 38-31 as the final score was the biggest lead either team had in the contest while Blue Eye rallies from 18 points down in the first half and takes an overtime win over Carthage 54-52. Branson plays Strafford, Blue Eye Nixa in 5th Place Games Monday.

Forsyth and Hollister each win their Consolation Games at the Walnut Grove Tournament as Forsyth edges Conway 66-64 and Hollister defeats Lighthouse Christian 65-46. The two Lakes Area Schools will play each other in the 5th Place Game Monday.
