Branson Police Busy With Crime Investigations and Seizing Drugs to End Year

by: Scott McCaulley

The Branson Police Department has had a busy end of the year as they have had several arrests over the last week.

Information from a Press Release from the Branson Police Department:

The Special Investigations Division received information of a house in the area that was being used to store stolen items and to distribute narcotics. The investigation led to the issuance of a search warrant at the house that was successfully served. During the subsequent search, officers seized a large amount of illegal narcotics (Methamphetamine, heroin, psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, prescription pills, marijuana, and concentrated THC products), drug paraphernalia, two handguns, and $9,000 in stolen merchandise. As a result of this investigation and warrant, several people have been arrested as the investigation continues.

In another case, Patrol Officers initiated a routine traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of nearly 8 grams of methamphetamine. As a result of the stop, officers were able to secure a search warrant for a room at a local motel that was served by patrol officers. The warrant resulted in the seizure of a stolen gun, methamphetamine, marijuana, and four people were arrested as part of the proactive patrol investigation.

In yet another case, a Detective returning to the police station after conducting a follow-up investigation observed a vehicle stolen earlier in the week. The Detective confirmed the vehicle was stolen and coordinated with patrol to stop the car. Officers stopped the car, arrested the two occupants, and seized property and methamphetamine from inside the car.
