Corps of Engineers Preps for Full Road Closure on Norfork Dam

From KTLO:

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is preparing for a temporary full road closure of the Norfork Dam. Both lanes of Arkansas Highway 177 over the dam will be closed next Monday thru Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m each day.

According to the Corps, crews will install equipment for maintaining the dam’s sluice gates. The closure has been coordinated with local emergency and law enforcement agencies.

During the closure, travel to locations on Highway 177 past the Norfork Dam will require using Arkansas Highways 5 and 56 through Calico Rock and Arkansas Highway 223 through Pineville. Motorists are urged to plan around the closing and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
