The Forsyth School District is looking at joining other districts in the Lakes Region at going to a four-day week.

School officials tell Hometown Daily News that the conversations are beginning that would possible have the district convert to the four-day week as soon as next school year.

According to a release from the school, the district experienced a teacher shortage to begin this school year and prompted looking at options including the four-day week.

The district held a community meeting on Monday to discuss the findings and get community input.
