Branson Police Remembers Fallen Officer

The Branson Police Department is remembering Fayetteville Police Officer Stephen Carr who died in the line of duty this past weekend.

The Department announces on their Facebook Page that Branson Officers will wear a mourning band across their badges until Thursday when Officer Carr will be laid to rest.

Carr was gunned down while sitting in his Patrol Car outside of the Police Station in Fayetteville as he was about to go on patrol Saturday. Officers responding to the sound of shots confront an armed suspect who as eventually shot and killed.

Carr, who was from Texas according to Fayetteville Officials, did have ties to southwest Missouri. Ozarks First reported that Carr had attended and played football at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar.

Funeral Services will be held for Carr Thursday at Bud Walton Arena on the University of Arkansas Campus.
