Stone County Firefighters Work Two Blazes Sunday

A busy Sunday Morning for the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District as Firefighters out of the Y-Highway Station had two separate fires.

According to information from the Department’s Facebook Page, the first fire happened after Midnight when a Medical Alert Alarm Activation went off at a mobile home type structure around Pioneer Point Road. Crews were able to get into the house and knock down the fire with crews leaving the scene around 2:00 am.

The second fire happened around 7:20 am in the same general area, this time on Lake Forrest Drive. Firefighters arrived to find a multi-level residence with smoke and flames showing from the roof and wires arcing. The fire required a second alarm before it was put out after 8:00 am with crews leaving the scene just before 9:30 am.

No injuries were reported with either fire according to the Facebook release.
