While officially already in effect, signage will start going up next week to reflect the change of route for Highway 76 in the Branson Area.
With the City of Branson having already taken over control of the existing roadway between Shepherd of the Hills Expressway and Highway 65, the Highway 76 signs will start going town on the road and be moved to it’s new designated route according to a release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
In the future, signage will reflect State Highway 76 goes off its existing route in Stone County near the Taney County Line at the Ozark Mountain Highroad. The current assignment of State Highway 465 for the Highroad will be replaced by Highway 76.
US Highway 65 will now also carry the Highway 76 designation between the High Road and the Main Street exit in Branson where 76 will then follow its current routing.
The City of Branson earlier this fall announced the name of the former Highway 76 between Shepherd of the Hills Expressway Roark Valley Road is now officially designated as 76 Country Boulevard.
The re-signing project is expected to be complete by March of 2020.
