MODOT Works on Roads in Taney County

by: Scott McCaulley

The Missouri Department of Transportation is working on several area roads over the month of December.

The Highway 160 Bridge over Beaver Creek, that closed for a brief time in November due to deterioration that was discovered during a Bridge Inspection, will be down to one lane at times this week and into early next week as crews work to finish the repair to the bridge.

Pipe Installation is taking place during the month on several highways.

While work on Highway MM east of Kirbyville wrapped up on Monday, Pipe Installation is taking place through Friday and again next Monday and Tuesday on K Highway and then on J Highway beginning December 11 and continuing until the end of the year.

Work will take place weekdays from 8:30 am- 3:00 pm and while residents will have access to driveways on either side of the Construction Zone, no traffic will be allowed to drive through the Work Zone.

Drivers are urged to find alternative routes in anticipation of closures during those days.
