The Harrison Goblins are at home as the Arkansas High School Playoffs open tonight.

The Goblins are the top team in 5A West finishing an undefeated regular season and play host to Batesville, the fourth place team in the 5A East Conference at FS Garrison Stadium tonight at 7.

A Goblin win could possible set them up for a rematch with Pulaski Academy, the team that knocked them out of the playoffs in last year’s semi-finals. PA plays host to Magnolia in their first round match-up tonight.

The Goblins will play at home as long as they are alive in the playoffs through the semi-finals with the championship game in taking place in Little Rock on December 7.

Tonight’s game can be heard on 1029 the Z with coverage beginning at 6:00.

Yellville-Summit is also taking part in the playoffs in 3A with the Panthers playing their opening round game at Newport.

In Missouri, District Championships are taking place with two teams that eliminated area teams still playing. Carthage, who eliminated Branson in the Class 5 District Semi-finals last week, are hosting Nixa in tonight’s title game while Seneca, who edged Reeds Spring in the opening round of Class 3 Playoffs two weeks ago, is playing tonight at Cassville.
