As rain pelted the region late Wednesday afternoon and evening, several areas suffered through Power Outages.

Liberty Utilities/Empire reported nearly 8000 customers centered in the Hollister and Kirbyville areas were without power during the evening hours while other customers in Jasper and Newton Counties between Joplin and Neosho were also without power.

Most of the power outages were apparently caused by some wind damage with the storms moving through the area though a truck hitting a power pole near Neosho was the cause of part of the outage in that area.

As of the morning, Liberty reports all customers with power restored.
